Medication management is a level of outpatient treatment that involves the initial evaluation of the patient's needs for psychotropic medications, the provision of a prescription, an ongoing medical monitoring related to the patient's use of the psychotropic medication by a qualified physician/prescriber. Medication management includes monitoring, reconciling medications, and ensuring patients get the desired outcomes. It requires a thorough review of prescribed drugs and their possible side effects to create treatment plans and monitor their safety and efficacy.

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation may be needed to diagnose emotional, behavioral, or developmental disorders. An evaluation of a child, adolescent, or adult is made based on behaviors present and in relation to physical, genetic, environmental, social, cognitive (thinking), emotional, and educational parts that may be affected as a result of these behaviors.

The GeneSight Psychotropic test is a genetic test that shows your provider how your genes may affect medication outcomes. The GeneSight test may reveal which medications to treat depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions require dose adjustments, be less likely to work, or have an increased risk of side effects based on your DNA.

Weight-loss drugs aren't an easy answer to weight loss. But they may help you make the lifestyle changes that you need to be proactive to lose weight and improve your health. Certain psychiatric medications have weight-gain as a side effect, which can then result in a weight-loss medication being added in the treatment plan.

The decision to use depot anti-psychotics instead of oral preparations is commonly based on considerations of treatment adherence. Many patients who are not opposed to treatment and who at times can recognize the value of treatment still intermittently or continually fail to take their medications because they have cognitive impairment or because they lack daily routine. It is an easier way to continue with treatment without having to remember to take a prescribed oral medication every day, and it lasts longer in your system depending on the medication.

Medications: Uzedy, Abilify Maintena, Vivitrol, Perseris.
